Some 4,000 people packed into a Croatian stadium last Sunday for a strange and exotic spectacle: a real live tennis match, between top-level professionals, in front of fans.

It was the second leg of the Adria Tour, a string of exhibitions through the Balkans organized by world No. 1 Novak Djokovic. With the coronavirus ebbing in the region, the series was supposed to be a step toward normalcy for a sport that has been shut down since mid-March.
